AQUATECH Yard/Shop Technician
AQUATECH is a complete service provider of specialized Dewatering and Pumping Equipment for all fluids handling and transfer applications. The Yard/Shop Technician is responsible for performing tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of the Aquatech yard and shop facilities, the equipment, the hoses and accessories. This is an entry level position with great opportunity for advancement. Health and Safety is a major responsibility of this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of the Yard and Buildings operated by Aquatech – keep the shop/yard tidy, swept and organized.
- Inspect hose ends and clamps for damage, repair and replace as required.
- Inspect pipe for missing O-rings, repair and replace as required.
- Restock the hoses/accessories on the proper shelves or the proper area.
- Sort and dispose of damaged PVC pipe and fittings, clean the screens and repair.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turn-around times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service to external and internal customers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Equipment Orders:
- Receive order from Supervisor.
- Assemble hoses, fittings and accessories required for the order. Check and inspect before assembling. Place all hoses, fittings and accessories in one area to be loaded.
- Check off items as picked and assembled off the delivery slip or packing list. Inspect each item for quality (ie. all gaskets are in good condition, no holes in hose or pipe, all fittings are in good working order without damage). Separate any item that does not meet the quality standard immediately to a designated repair area.
- Check to make sure the equipment is full of fuel.
- Assist delivery driver with loading if required.
Equipment Returns:
- Assure that a red tag has been affixed to all machines returned.
- Repair hoses, pipes and accessories after return.
- Wash and clean equipment, hose and pipe upon arrival to the yard from external and internal customers.
- Open all doors and wash interior of the pumps and generators.
- Move equipment and accessories to the proper area for repair or replacement.
Qualifications and Required Experience
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Basic reading and mathematical skills.
- Legible handwriting.
- Ability to clearly communicate.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds frequently and on a daily basis.
- Uninhibited ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, push, pull, reach and grasp.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License in good standing.
- Must have own vehicle.
- Forklift Certification preferred.
